Radon Mitigation Photo Album: Basement & Crawlspace Mitigation in McCall, ID

During a real estate transaction in McCall, the buyer’s home inspector discovered an elevated radon level of 9.8 pCi/L. Referred to Idaho Radon by the realtor and her firm, we designed a mitigation solution that addressed both the basement and crawlspace. A basement suction point was installed in a mechanical closet beneath the stairs, while perforated piping was installed beneath the existing crawlspace barrier and connected to the basement system.   The existing crawlspace encapsulation presented some challenges, including numerous holes in the barrier and spray foam covering portions of the barrier along the foundation walls. After completing the mitigation work, follow-up testing showed the radon level had dropped to just 1.4 pCi/L—a significant reduction from the original 9.8 pCi/L and a welcome result for the clients.
