This home, located in the North End of Boise and built in 1935, features a basement with a small crawlspace. Idaho Radon conducted an initial assessment of the room
above the crawlspace at no charge to the client, in order to determine if additional mitigation was necessary. The radon test in the bedroom above the crawlspace
confirmed that levels were within acceptable limits, allowing us to avoid unnecessary work and save the client money.
The mitigation of the basement area was completed in a single day. A suction point was strategically placed in a bedroom closet, with the system extending through the
crawlspace to position the fan in a discreet section of the house, minimizing both visual impact and noise. As a result, Idaho Radon successfully reduced the radon levels to an
average of 1.2 pCi/L, ensuring a healthier indoor environment for the homeowners.
For a recently constructed home in Boise’s North End, we were fortunate to have access to the original construction plans. By reviewing these documents, we identified the locations of load-bearing footings and determined that the most effective system design would require four suction points and two fans. Upon installation and completion, the system successfully reduced the average radon level to 0.9 pCi/L.
